Wooo HOOO I Finally Finished

So I have been learning to knit over the last few months. My first few attempts were disastrous. The first two times I started, the yarn just was too hard to work with. Then once I thought I got the hang of it, I kept adding a stitch and it ended up looking like a mini cape. Anyway, my patient friends...jana and eve helped me and here is the outcome...

I am feeling a little adventurous and I think I will try a beanie next.

This next project went a little faster and was not as hard to figure out how to do, but I will admit that I had to call Krystal quite a few times. But I finally finished the crayon roll. Now I only have three more to make.

Seriously...can he get any cuter?

So the other night while Andrew was holding Gavin, he was making him laugh by making these raspberry noises to him. To our surprise Gavin totally started to do them back. So I had to get the camera and capture it. If you listen closely, you can totally hear him. Ooh, my little baby is growing up. This time it is so bittersweet.

Gotta Love Southern California

Monday Krystal and I went to the beach. My mom, Krystal's dad, and my best friend from high school and her mom all meet us there. It was such a nice day out. Just perfect beach weather and it wasn't crowded at all. The kids had such a great time. Even though I hate, hate, hate the sand, I love going to the beach because my kids have such a great time. Ally and Drew are such good buddies and they just played in the water and dug holes all day. This is actually the first time that Drew was not afraid of the water. They were playing in it all day. I am not sure this is the best thing. I definitely have to pay more attention when they are down by the water.

Cole was thoroughly enjoying himself. He didn't get a nap and he was happy go lucky all day.

Gavin on the other hand was not too sure about the water when my mom put his feet in.

Audrey is for sure going to be my beach bum. She was not wanting to go to the beach at first but when we got there, she b-lined it for the water. Her and my friend's son Nicolas were jumping over the waves as they would roll in. I wish I could of got it on film...Audrey kept twirling when the waves would come in (she is such a girl).

Daddy Daughter Night

Last Friday was the Father and Son's campout in our ward. However, the school had a Daddy/Daughter dance that night. Since Drew is still a little too young, Andrew decided he would go with Maddy. The theme for the night was Hawaiian Hula. So Andrew and Maddy got all dressed up and had a night out just the two of them. Audrey was quite sad that she was not able to go. She tried to hide in the car. It made me sad because I knew she would enjoy some one on one time with Andrew. Next year hopefully the school will do another activity like this that she can attend.

The whole gang.

When Andrew and Maddy got home, she just had this excitement in her eyes. I am so glad that they have a dad who loves to be involved with them. I know it means so much to our kids. Andrew said that he had the best time with Madison. They had dinner, participated in a couple of competitions (Andrew was robbed of his victory as muscle man) and danced. I am glad they had such a great time.

Newport Beach

Since Andrew and I have been dating, his family has gone to Park City each year for a vacation. A few years after we got married his mom bought a time share at the Park City Marriott. Since you can trade your week to go somewhere else, I have been nudging them each year to go somewhere else. Well this year, we went to Newport Beach. What a fantastic vacation. However, I have come to realize that vacations are not for resting... at least not when you go on them with kids. We had a great week with the family. We spent the time going to the pool, playing rockband, roasting marshmallows, staying up late, going to California Adventure, American Girl Doll, and Disneyland. Wow, I am exhausted just writing about it.

Half of Disneyland was people from Utah county on Spring Break so I was lucky enough to see two of my good friends from Utah. The picture below is one with Sandra.

My other friend Mindy was there with her family and she was actually staying in our resort. Here is a picture of Maddy with Mindy's daughter Kiersten.

And last a view from our resort. Oh how it makes me want to go back. Maybe next year....

Gavin's Blessing

Best Shot of Gavin in his blessing outfit.

Gavin was blessed on Sunday, April 13th. He was two weeks away from being four months old. Our other kids were blessed in the first two months, but we waited to bless Gavin until Andrew's family and my grandparents could be with us. It was such a special day. We had so many people there that is was kind of embarrassing how big the circle was. I think if I counted right, there were thirteen men in the circle. Andrew gave a beautiful blessing as always. After the blessing, we went to the park close to our house and had lunch. That day was sooo hot. It was almost 100F but there was a breeze so it wasn't unbearable to be outside. On the way home from church, I kept debating if to switch it to my home. But there was over 50 people there and I just don't think I could of done it at my house. Especially since we were leaving for Newport that night for a week vacation. It all worked out great. Thanks everyone for the help. During Drew's blessing, I was seriously so crazy busy that I forgot to take any pictures. This time I made sure to get a lot of pictures.

I was actually able to get one outside the church amid all the chaos.

Here is one with my family minus my girls...they were too busy playing with their cousins. I have a great family and I am glad we are so close.

A picture of all the men that attended.

All the ladies that came...there were just too many to have one big group shot. So we had to split up the boy and the girls. Andrew's family is close knit. He has lots of cousins that live close by and they are always so supportive. I married into a great family.

Here is a picture of Dan and Krystal's family. They are the most photogenic family.

A picture of myself and Gavin with Andrew's mom and his grandma. We were so excited that they were both able to be here. His grandma is 91 years old and I am amazed at how much she travels. She always tries to make it to all the special occasions. Thanks Kip and Diana for bringing her down with you.

Girls Only Weekend...Now

So I have the best husband or I guess I should say we have the best husbands. Krystal and I were able to go on two girls only weekends in the last month. The first was to Vegas at the end of February and then at the beginning of April, we headed out to St. George to meet our friends from Utah. First, we made a stop along the way at Nordstroms to get makeovers.

A friend of ours just built a home in St. George. It was in the parade of homes just a couple of months ago. Since the house has not sold yet, that is where we got to stay. It was a pretty amazing house. It was around 10,000 square feet. There were four bedrooms, a spa area with a steam room and sauna. Too bad we didn't have time to use them. There was also a theatre room and a panic room. The panic room was hidden behind some cabinets...it was pretty cool. The backyard was on a golf course and it had two pools and a jacuzzi. So some highlights of the trip were eating at all our favorite places, getting massages, sitting by the pool, and getting to see Colbie Calliat at the Tuacahn. Here is a picture of her with her guitarist. He opened for her and he was awesome. When we tried to buy his Cd during intermission, it was already sold out. If you are interested in hearing him, his name is Tim Fagan and he is on Itunes. Anyway, I love going to concerts at the Tuacahn...the atmosphere is amazing.

Here is a picture of the entire group at Dinner. My friend Misty came with her four week old baby. He was so cute and she looked amazing. Thanks girls for such a fun weekend.
