Look Whose 8 months

Gavin you are eight months and I seriously can't get enough of you. You are a sweet content little boy. You sleep well and you are so happy when you are awake. Everyone just comments on what a good baby you are. I am so lucky to be your mom.

I have had so much fun with these two boys.
I hope that they are really good friends. About a month before this picture was taken, I took Gavin to the doctor's office for a routine checkup. I was told that he is in the ZERO percentile for weight. Come on. Does he look malnourished to you? They seemed a little concerned but I tend to have babies that are on the small side. I actually don't mind him being little..then he seems like a baby longer.

First Day of School

Summer seemed so short this year. I guess its due to the fact that each year school starts earlier and earlier. When I was going to school (way back when) we used to always start the day after Labor Day. What is this August 18th stuff?!? So no need for new fall clothing because it is still 100 degrees in Temecula. Madison is in the third grade this year. She was so lucky and got what we heard was the BEST teacher, Mr. Saffell. Audrey is starting Kindergarten this year. YIPPEE!!! After three years of Preschool she was ready and so excited to start Kindergarten. We heard she also got the BEST teacher, Mrs. Bates. Here are some pictures from the first day.

Outside our home. Now that is some sisterly love. I wish they liked each other like that all the time.In front of the school.

Maddy with her teacher. (My flash didn't go off.)
Audrey with her teacher.

The Kindergarten parents are asked to stay with their kids for the first day. I think it is in hopes of smoothing out the transition. When the kids first arrived in the room, they had a scavenger hunt. It was a little chaotic with all the kids trying to maneuver around the room but it was a fun activity. Then the kids found their desks and were asked to write their first names. After writing their names, they were to tell their parents how they felt on the first day and we were to write that on the paper for them. Audrey told us that she felt happy. The little boy next to her, Evan told his parents that he felt miserable. I had to snicker. The parents talked him in to putting he was nervous instead. Kids are too funny.

Audrey taking writing her name very seriously.A picture with Dad.A picture with Mom.
After that the parents went to a meeting with the principal and the kids stayed with the teacher. Then we got to take the kids home early. Not to scary of a first day.

She Popped the Question?!?!

Right before school started, I was able to go with Krystal and my mom to have lunch with my soon to be sister in law, Kendra and her mom. It was right before school started so Andrew came home to be with the kids. Having him work in Temecula is one positive for this whole job transition thing. We headed up to Newport to have lunch at this really nice restaurant that is located in the middle of a garden. It was a beautiful place and the food was seriously to die for. I think I talked about it for the next couple of weeks. When we got there (like almost an hour late...can I say that I hate the 91 Freeway), a envelope was sitting on both Krystal and my plates. Inside the envelope was a cute card asking if we would be her bridesmaids. I am so lucky to have a extended family that gets along so well. I am excited for the upcoming wedding. After lunch we got to go and see the venue for their wedding. It is beautiful. We can't wait.
